Photos by Size Privacy Policy

This policy covers the macOS app Photos by Size, made by Steve Harrison, an individual developer based in Australia. The website at steveharrison.dev has its own privacy policy.
What the app collects
Photos by Size does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data.
The app has no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party code. I have no way to see what is in your library or how you use the app.
Access to your Photos library
The app reads your Photos library through Apple's PhotoKit after you grant permission in the standard macOS prompt. You can revoke that permission at any time in System Settings under Privacy & Security, then Photos.
It only changes your library when you ask it to: adding items to an album, or moving them to Recently Deleted, where Photos keeps them for 30 days before removing them permanently.
Network connections
Photos are never uploaded. The app makes no network connections of its own, with two exceptions handled entirely by Apple's system frameworks:
- Downloading originals that are stored only in iCloud, which goes through Apple's iCloud Photos service
- Looking up a place name for a photo's location, which sends the coordinates to Apple's geocoding service
I receive nothing from either. Apple's handling of that data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Data stored on your Mac
A cache of the last library scan (file names and sizes, no images) is stored inside the app's sandbox container on your Mac so the list appears quickly on the next launch. Deleting the app removes it.
Your rights
Because the app holds no personal information about you, there is nothing for me to access, correct, or delete. If you have a question about any of this, email me and I will answer it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, I will update the date at the top of this page.
