Call of Duty, a popular first-person shooter game, has partnered with AI company Modulate to start analysing in-game voice chats for content moderation:
Modulate’s press release doesn’t include too many details about how exactly ToxMod works. Its website notes that the tool “triages voice chat to flag bad behavior, analyzes the nuances of each conversation to determine toxicity, and enables moderators to quickly respond to each incident by supplying relevant and accurate context.” The company’s CEO said in a recent interview that the tool aims to go beyond mere transcription; it takes factors like a player’s emotions and volume into context as well in order to differentiate harmful statements from playful ones.

This gem on startups pivoting from crypto to AI:
The move from crypto to artificial intelligence fueled the markets this year, but some are questioning how much of it is real. A company that wasn’t doing well renamed itself to “Applied Blockchain”, but a little too late. Luckily for them, ChatGPT came out a few months later. To boost their stock price, they renamed themselves “Applied Digital” and mentioned AI a few times in their earnings call, getting a hyped 450% increase in the public markets. While dollars are flowing in quickly to all things AI, it is yet to be seen whether these companies can even last.
